Housing law – for Landlords and Tenants

Housing law includes issues concerning residential tenancies. Letting out residential accommodation is strictly regulated and controlled with ever changing rules. It can be a legal minefield. Disagreements can arise which can become expensive.

We can advise you about the whole range of Landlord and Tenant law and about how to settle disagreements. But, it is best to try to avoid disputes and difficulties by consulting a solicitor about the type and terms of the Tenancy Agreement best suited to your case.

The Tenancy Agreement will record your and your Tenants responsibilities and rights and we will advise you if any of the terms you have in mind conflict with the law which might restrict your ability to include any particular stipulation.

If, despite everything you find a dispute with your Tenant impossible to resolve and/or if you have to regain possession of your property we can advise you of the legal procedures to be followed and we can organise the necessary Court proceedings.

Similarly, if you are a Tenant we can advise you of your rights and responsibilities under the law applicable to your type of tenancy and as to broad issues arising between you and your Landlord.
