Inheritance Tax planning

In the usual case, Inheritance Tax only arises as an issue to be dealt with when we die. Then, we each have an allowance (currently – April 2010 - £325,000).

House values in our area virtually doubled in the space of a few years creating Inheritance Tax considerations for many families where there had been none before. However, from October 2007, the unused proportion of the nil-rate band can be trasferred to a surviving spouse or civil partner.

We can provide specialist advice to clients wishing to consider ways of mitigating anticipated Inheritance Tax liability expected to fall on the next generation.
